The DMF Unit is part of a highly integrated Amines facility that sits on 57 acres of land, two-thirds of which are undeveloped.

methylamines plant

The Amines facility produces Methylamines for use in Higher Amines and Amine Derivatives.

The purpose of the DMF plant is to react dimethylamine (DMA) from the methylamines plant, with carbon monoxide from the Oil Gas Plant and with sodium methoxide catalyst to produce dimethylformamide (DMF) for external sale.

methylamines plant   The DMF Plant has a current capacity of 24,000 tons/year.

    Process Description

methylamines plant

Dimethylformamide (DMF) Plant is a continous operation produced by the reaction of dimethylamine (DMA) (from the Methylamines Plant) and carbon monoxide (from the Oil Gas Plant) at a capacity of 24,000 metric tons per year.

The DMF plant is located between the Methylamines Plant and the Oil Gas Plant at the northern area of the amines facility. Approximately 800 tons of DMF is stored at the site in (2) large tanks, located adjacent to the north side of the plant. Sodium methoxide (received as a solution in methanol) is used as a catalyst in the manufacture of DMF.
